S2 Episode 10: "What Darkness Discovered" | A Story for Your Inner-Child
Converse with Goddess 𓋹 MiiMii
Here, I leave you momentarily with our finale for Season 2. I hope you have enjoyed my Shadow Work Series as I (1) Modeled Shadow Integration, (2) provided you with a guided meditation to find gratitude through the toughest battles, (3) provided you with a guided meditation to reignite your self-trust as you embark onto your next journey into the New Year, and now (4) read your inner-child a story to teach you how to begin loving your own shadows.
Meg begins with an introduction and some context for the story before she sets the scene and begins the invocation to connect with the listener. She then reads you her children's book that she has been reworking and revising over the course of the year.
What Darkness Discovered is a short children's book that deals with themes of shadow identification, shadow integration, death, judgment from others, and the darkness that is in us all and throughout society. This children's book is for children who don't fit in easily with others and have parents who desire their children to understand how words and body language can hurt just as much as physical pain.
This book is written to be enjoyed by parents alongside their children; please remember there is an inner-child within you as well. Thus, this book is meant to prompt questions that might be hard to answer, but can be sparked through reading together. It is recommended that parents always read beforehand to best prepare for what kinds of questions might surface during reading together.
After the reading, Meg then closes up the episode with a benediction.
See you in 2023!

“What Darkness Discovered” | A Story for Your Inner-Child
Introduction:
Welcome to the Erotic Renaissance, I’m Meg De la Torre, your Linguist of Love. Thank you for tuning in and enjoying our finale for Season 2. Last episode, I guided you through a Shadow Work meditation, as I hope you found an unexpected yet eye-opening reflection in the mirror. This episode, I bring you a gift for your inner-child. Today’s story is a children’s book that I have been working on for a little over a year. I plan to publish this book in the near future with different pronoun options, as well as in Spanish and Arabic one day, but since you are my listener today, I am choosing to use the pronoun “they” to be inclusive of whomever’s inner-child will be listening to this story today. This episode is our last in my Shadow Work series, which means I will resume erotic content as we enter into 2023 and seek to be free.
This episode features themes of shadow work and is aimed at helping you see the beauty in your shadows, as we begin to dream up new ways to free ourselves this 2023. I’ll then close up this episode with some final thoughts and a benediction. Please remember that “[t]he ultimate goal …, as humans, is to integrate our shadow and light aspects…. integrating them into the whole complex you.” (Disco Dolly | Episode 7, Erotic Renaissance).
Context
Today’s story was originally drafted in dedication to a friend that was going through some personal development and was for the first time seeing her darkness as beautiful. I found that a story showing the beauty in darkness was needed in our world.
So I now gift this story to you, my Love. I hope that it helps create a safe space so you can see the beauty in your shadows, as writing this story did for me in return.
I now publish this story in dedication to us, may this story guide us towards the home in our own hearts.
Setting the Mood
Let’s set the mood together now. If you have “Venus” by Stella Lux Creations, please add some to your wax warmer, as I am sitting here with you, may it bring a little love into your space. The notes are lucious rose, sweet jasmine, and a smoky bourbon. I am wearing a long, sheer black dress with slits along my thighs. The top is barely covered by lace with peaks of my lace mauve bra. Bonded by fishnets on my siren legs, I smell of oud and jasmine as I speak these words to you right now.
Invocation
As we turn towards our story for today, please take a moment to relax and release any tension you might be holding in your body. Feel free to light a candle and set an intention for yourself as we continue with some communal breathing. Wherever you are right now, you are welcome to rest your eyes under heavy lids – allowing your eyes to close softly.
Please, my love, breathe in. And out. (3) And now, please prepare for a narrative for the inner-child within you. May this narrative give you space to love the you I will always see first.
What Darkness Discovered | A Story for Your Inner-Child
Once, there was a being named “Darkness.”
In a World that celebrated the Light, Darkness was very...
…very alone.
Darkness was so different than the beings in the World of Light. Instead of casting light to show, Darkness shrouded. Instead of being what people ran to for safety, people ran to the Darkness to hide and conceal. Instead of bringing in birth, everyone was afraid of the Death that came with Darkness, so Darkness began to feel…
…evil.
–and not nearly as lovely as the beings of light.
Darkness tried to get to know the beings of Light, but no one took the time to listen to them, because all the beings of light feared the Darkness so much.
Darkness was the shadows in the alleyway where the unknown lurked, the fearful way that a smile was consumed and dissolved by sadness, and Darkness was a stolen last breath.
“You deserve to be punished for your darkness!” said Someone with a book who boasted of the light he possessed. He threw each word like a knife, gesturing to the rafters and rainbow prisms of stained glass windows.
For a long time, the Darkness was avoided and pushed into corners by those who feared shadows. Feeling very alone, and worried they were a very bad thing in the world, Darkness had gotten smaller and smaller, hoping to disappear all together.
Darkness tried whenever they could to say that they must be more than what everyone else saw. There must be something more to them than whatever it was within that made others run away or sweep Darkness into unlit corners.
But no one listened to Darkness. Angry words weren’t even needed; it was the way that the beings of light moved away from Darkness – the way they pretended that Darkness didn’t exist or left silence in response to their thoughts or questions.
Maybe, Darkness thought, death and evil was all they really were supposed to be. It seemed to be what others expected of them no matter what Darkness said or did.
Maybe that was it…
Maybe that was all they were allowed to be.
Feeling cold from the absence of another, Darkness felt the warmness of a hopeful seed within. So Darkness took a deep breath and filled themself with all the bravery of asking questions that never received responses, of speaking up when no one listened, and of the strength of showing kindness despite others expectations. – And Darkness decided to journey within.
Being the only option they had left, Darkness met the shadows that even they feared in their reflection.
But, when Darkness faced their own fearful shadows, they found...
...more.
Within their own darkness, they found beauty and love in ways they didn’t expect. Darkness held the shadows at dusk when the sun had just closed its eyes. They held the mysteries of what couldn’t be explained just yet, …
...the stillness of a frozen lake,...
...the softness of moonlight on the petals of a closing daisy as it said “goodnight.”
Darkness found that in the shadows of the alleyway, a cat held her kittens to keep them warm.
They found that without sadness, a smile didn’t have the same value.
Darkness found that a final breath wasn’t stolen, but could be released with gratitude.
—And it was through searching within their very own shadows that Darkness had been taught to fear, that they began to learn to love the only thing they had ever been taught to hate – the self.
And from that day forward, Darkness wore their shadows like the adornment of armor,
like a smile at the sound of snow,
and like the beauty of a silhouette.
Closing & Benediction
Thank you for joining me for a story for your inner-child, aimed to provide you with a safe space to find the beauty in your shadows. Please feel free to share this story with anyone who might need to learn to love the shadows they’ve been taught to hate. Should you like to support my mission, you can do so in a myriad of ways, but especially through my website ( LINGUISTOFLOVE.COM ).
As always, thank you so much for tuning into the Erotic Renaissance, where my mission is to (1) help society see that being a sensual and sexual being is something that can be and should be celebrated and (2) that every soul is deserving of body autonomy and a sexual liberation – that at everyone’s core is a little bit of kink waiting to be discovered, and that the sensual soul is a part of us all.
It is my hope that you found within this episode, some reasons to fall in love yourself and the shadows you’ve been taught to hate. If you are listening to my voice as the sun rises, I hope that you tame any dragons that lie ahead. And if you are listening before resting for some slumber, I wish you well as you dream up new dreams for the adventure into the unknown of the New Year ahead.
I am Meg De la Torre, your Linguist of Love, let me seduce you.
